Themes for TechWorld

The three overarching themes for TechWorld provide the opportunity to assess the very latest UK technology and applications available from UK companies - some of the most innovative technology companies globally.

Energy and Environment

Offering insights into innovative technologies and techniques for saving energy, reducing power consumption and improving performance through the application of creative design; this theme will provide insights into the crucial enablers which will allow us to move toward a low energy society.

The Energy and Environment theme will showcase how UK technology may be applied to enable renewable and sustainable energy approaches, utilising novel and disruptive techniques to replace traditional energy-intensive generation methods. This outlines the future of SMART Grids and networks as we develop the SMART Cities of the future.

Digital Connected World

The Digitally Connected World has arrived and reaches into every part of our business and personal lives. At TechWorld you will see emerging technologies and applications that place the UK at the forefront of global innovation in the digital age.

Review applications as diverse as intelligent transport systems and mobile health, consider how education, construction and retail are changing in a digitally connected world and how location technology, the Internet of Things and the Cloud will continue to accelerate us to a web-enabled online presence.

Enabling Creativity

Perhaps the greatest impact of technology on our lives in recent years has been the explosive growth of digital and social media. From new paradigms in social networking, news and information delivery to augmented reality and 3D experiences, the UK provides many of the World’s most innovative companies.
